March 8, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — “If the Tea Party movement is the spoiled stepchild of the American news media, then the 9/11 Truth movement is the mad woman in the attic of U.S. journalistic culture,” according to Kevin Howley, associate professor of communication at DePauw University. His Bloomington Alternative column examines a new study out of Canada which suggests that “news reports that bring up troubling questions about the official story surrounding the events of Sept. 11, 2001, are gaining traction in the international press.”

The professor notes, “Significantly, these news narratives no longer frame the 9/11 Truth movement as so much conspiracy theory. Rather, independent, commercial and public service news organizations the world over are giving serious consideration to allegations that challenge the veracity of the official story that emerged in the days and weeks following the 9/11 attacks.”

According to Dr. Howley, “One story in particular seems to have created an opening for subsequent reports that challenge the official story: the April 2009 publication of a peer-reviewed study appearing in Open Chemical Physics Journal. The journal article presents the findings of an examination of dust from the site of the World Trade Center. The dust sample revealed traces of nano-thermite, a highly explosive substance that has been linked to classified military research.” That work led to coverage by several mainstream news organizations, Howley reports.

Citing other examples, the professor writes, “For instance, in a story pegged to the anniversary of the attacks, the Sept. 11, 2009, edition of London’s Daily Mail draws on the work of Dr. David Ray Griffin whose book Osama bin Laden: Dead or Alive? suggests that bin Laden died of kidney failure — in December 2001. Just two days after we warned of false flag domestic attacks that would be blamed on the federal government’s political adversaries were all but inevitable, a Californian man attacked the Pentagon last night in a shooting that wounded two police officers and has since been blamed on the John Patrick Bedell’s advocacy for 9/11 truth.

On Wednesday we explained how a Southern Poverty Law Center report which demonized We Are Change 9/11 truth organizations in the same breath as violent racist skinhead groups was part of a preparatory set-up for violent domestic acts that would be blamed on anti-government extremists.

We pointed out that since examples of Americans committing violence in pursuit of their political beliefs, FBI patsy Timothy McVeigh aside, were thin on the ground, organizations like the SPLC were begging for such incidents to occur in order to provide the federal government with the pretext to crack down on dissent and silence free speech on the Internet.

The Washington Times is a newspaper that looks with favor upon the Bush/Cheney/Obama/neocon wars of aggression in the Middle East and favors making terrorists pay for 9/11. Therefore, I was surprised to learn on February 24 that the most popular story on the paper’s website for the past three days was the “Inside the Beltway” report, “Explosive News,” about the 31 press conferences in cities in the US and abroad on February 19 held by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, an organization of professionals which now has 1,000 members.

I was even more surprised that the news report treated the press conference seriously.How did three World Trade Center skyscrapers suddenly disintegrate into fine dust? How did massive steel beams in three skyscrapers suddenly fail as a result of short-lived, isolated, and low temperature fires? “A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7,” reports the Washington Times.

The paper reports that the architects and engineers have concluded that the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Institute of Standards and Technology provided “insufficient, contradictory and fraudulent accounts of the circumstances of the towers’ destruction” and are “calling for a grand jury investigation of NIST officials.”

The newspaper reports that Richard Gage, the spokesperson for the architects and engineers said: “Government officials will be notified that “Misprision of Treason,’ U.S. Code 18 (Sec. 2382) is a serious federal offense, which requires those with evidence of treason to act. The implications are enormous and may have profound impact on the forthcoming Khalid Sheik Mohammed trial.”

There is now an organization, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth. At the main press conference in San Francisco, Eric Lawyer, the head of that organization, announced the firefighters’ support for the architects and engineers’ demands. He reported that no forensic investigation was made of (more…)

On Feb.16, 2010, retired librarian, Elizabeth Woodworth, posted a survey of a turn in the approach to the 9/11 Truth movement in foreign press accounts, from “a ‘conspiracy theory’ ignoring science and common sense” to “a scientific controversy worthy of debate.”  Woodward said, “in response to emerging independent science on the 9/11 attacks, nine corporate, seven public, and two independent media outlets aired analytic programs investigating the official account.”  She speculated that the new attitude “might be a sign that worldwide public and corporate media organizations are positioning themselves, and preparing their audiences, for a possible revelation of the truth of the claim that forces within the U.S.government were complicit in the attacks ~ a revelation that would call into question the publicly given rationale for the military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.”  http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=17624

Please do do remember that a peer-reviewed paper published in the Open Chemical Physics Journal on April 3, 2009, reported that a little known high-tech explosive called nano-thermite was found throughout the World Trade Center dust.

Now, let’s quickly review the key Congressional representatives, 9/11 commission members, senior Intelligence people and government officials who, along with millions of Americans including myself, are still not satisfied with the official 9/11 inquiry or cover-up.

Dean Haglund (X-Files and The Lone Gunman) drops by to visit WACLA during our bannering of one of the busiest freeways in the country, the 405. Dean is one of the most outspoken movie and television celebrities when it comes to 9-11 Truth and we were all honored to have him spend time out of his day with us while we bannered roughly 25,000 commuters during rush hour in Los Angeles with our 9-11 Truth messages.

We got such overwhelming warm responses from the travelers on both the freeway below and the road crossing the bridge. Officers in a passing police squad car honked enthusiastically and waved to us! We spent three hours holding those banners, and we enjoyed every minute.

By the time we were done, the puffy clouds from earlier in the day had been eradicated by massive non-stop aerosol spraying until all that remained was a disgusting haze and a constant replenishing of long white trails of chemicals. After taking down the banners at the end of the day, we remained on the bridge for ten minutes pointing up at the obvious pattern of chemical aerosol spray, and guess what… we got many honks from the cars on the freeway. Awareness of the chemtrail problem seems to be growing. That’s good news.
